I have always had a love of animals, but my true love has always been horses. I began working with horses when I was 13 years old at Autumn Twilight Morgan Farm in Salem, OR. I spent many a weeknight and most weekends doing anything I could to just be around horses clear into my 20’s. Through the years I have gained experience through showing, training and owning my own horses. I’ve even volunteered at an horse camp for autistic children and young adults. My love of horses had continued to grow until one day a simple conversation with a friend told me of, Shiloh; a little mare that was in dire need of getting rescued before she got any worse. I had owned many horses before but had never tried to save one. I mulled it over for a couple days wondering if I had the knowledge to bring a horse back to life, which is pretty much what I had to do. I finally decided that this would have to be a learning experience for the both of us and brought her home. Shiloh, a 6 yr old Quarter/Arab mare, who was in far worse shape then what I was told, was 350+ pounds underweight and on her 14.1 hand frame, didn't leave much left and was severely emaciated. After a year of feeding her the proper nutrition of hay and alfalfa, vitamins, supplements, along with regular farrier and vet visits, I began to slowly rebuild her muscle tone. Through a LOT of hard work on both our parts; Shiloh had made an almost complete recovery.

But there was still something missing. Because of her poor muscle tone, Shiloh was still quit frail. Her hips would worry me the most. After having her adjusted several times, only to have them dislocate shortly after; I began looking for another solution.  So I purchased a book on massage. After reading the book, I researched classes on Equine Massage and enrolled in a class provided by Bridge Creek Ranch School of Equine Massage Therapy. My instructor, Denise Ashcraft was an amazing teacher and taught me everything from The breathtaking muscle structure of the horse to healing herbs, essential oils and even how to perfect my bedside manner. I fell in love with being able to help these beautiful animals that I've spent my entire life admiring. After the first couple massages I could already see a difference in Shiloh. She had more energy, more stamina, the spring in her step returned and she was more willing to just move on her own.

I thought, if I could do this for a little mare that was literally on her last leg, imagine how many other horses with minor ailments I could help.

I'm just a person who loves horses and only wants to help them have the happiest life possible and help a couple owners along the way. I am so thankful for every experience with every horse I am lucky enough to help.

I hope through educating people about the benefits of Equine Massage, I can strengthen the bond of so many horses and their owners.

This is all because of and for, my dear baby girl Shiloh. She has taught me so much since I've had the honor to call her mine...
